Examples of Green

These are examples of pieces I have made with green colored glazes!

Each time I glaze a piece, they turn slightly different, I am only human after all! Many factors can change the results of a glaze like application thickness, how the kiln was fired, even what it was fired next to! I had this one glaze that turned the surrounding glazes matte (still a mystery as to why, even Amaco didn't know the reason!).

The unpredictability of ceramics is part of its draw, but can be frustrating when things don't go to plan. I'm always testing new combinations of colors, whether I see some interesting glaze online, or think "what would these two look like together?". These are some of the colors that I have tested over the years, and turned out loving!

Pottery can also take on a whole new look depending on the lighting! One of my favorite unsuspecting glazes is Monstera by Laguna Clay. It is a beautifully deep green, and in the sunlight, it shimmers with iridescence.

My glazes are all commercially bought. I don't have enough space in my studio to mix big buckets of glaze, as well as testing different recipes. Although it seems so cool to create a glaze of my own, buying commercial glazes provides predictability. This is especially important when making bespoke ceramics that are on a time crunch.

Overall, I hope you enjoy looking through my catalog of greens. Maybe it will spark inspiration!
